Head Bashing

Nail Wound
Today in my section a student had a large red spot on his shirt. Apparently he had jumped on a pile of construction materials the night before and received a puncture wound from a nail right above his heart. The wound was seeping blood throughout the day and through our lab onto his white shirt. He said it was about an inch deep and was apparently unconcerned about it. The "spot" was about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and growing.
